The fraction of Foresto is located east of the Mestre-Adria railway, bordered to the south by the Canal dei Cuori, to the west by the state road 516 "Piovese" and to the north by the provincial road 7 "Rebosola." The toponym Foresto indicates that in the area there was once a rich flora and fauna of forests.
History of Cona
The history of Cona dates back to the period of barbarian invasions when the territories were conquered by the Lombards. Later, the territory came under the dominion of the Estensi. During the Venetian Republic, Cona became part of the Dogado and was frequented by the doges as a hunting land. In 1866, with the annexation of Veneto to the Kingdom of Italy, Cona became an autonomous municipality.
