Comazzo
Comazzo: history and territory
Hello friends, today I want to talk to you about Comazzo, a municipality in the province of Lodi in Lombardy. The town, called ''Comàzz'' in the local dialect, has about 2251 inhabitants and is located at the northern end of the province. The history of Comazzo dates back to the 9th century, and during the struggles between Lodi and Milan in the 13th century, it was the subject of disputes. From 1661 it belonged to the ''Premoli'' and then to the ''Pertusati''. During the Napoleonic era (1809-1816) it was added to other municipalities such as Lavagna (Comazzo), Marzano (Merlino) and Vaiano (Merlino). The ancient name of the town has its origins in Latin and refers to ''Comatio'' or ''Commacium''.
