Lido di Volano

Lido di Volano: a seaside town immersed in nature

Hi everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Lido di Volano, a beautiful seaside town located in the province of Ferrara. Among the seven Lidos of Comacchio, Volano is the one closest to the Po Delta, which makes it particularly interesting from a naturalistic point of view.

Description

Volano covers an area of 169 hectares and is surrounded by a vast pine forest, which is part of the Po di Volano natural reserve. The forest extends southward for 6 kilometers, separating the town center from Lake delle Nazioni and the nearby Lido delle Nazioni. The beach is wide and offers a unique sea experience, between relaxation and natural beauty.

Natural areas and biodiversity

Lido di Volano is immersed in a protected natural area, the Po di Volano natural reserve, which preserves the biodiversity of the area. In addition to the reserve, the Canneviè and Porticino valleys are a rich area of brackish water ponds with hills and islets. The average depth is 60 cm, with canals that replicate the ancient "peschiere" and "lavorieri" of the ancient valley. In the area, it is possible to practice birdwatching and fishing.

Monuments and places of interest

One of the main attractions is the Torre della Finanza, which until the '60s was a sort of customs for transit to Istria. In addition, Lido di Volano is surrounded by natural wonders that you absolutely cannot miss, such as the Po di Volano natural reserve.

Economy and tourism

In recent years, tourism has acquired great importance in Lido di Volano and, thanks to the numerous accommodation and restaurant facilities present, it is possible to spend an unforgettable holiday immersed in nature.

Conclusions

In conclusion, if you love nature, the sea, and tranquility, Lido di Volano is definitely the right destination for you. Do not hesitate to discover all the beauties that this seaside town has to offer and to travel in total safety in every season of the year.
