Lido degli Estensi, also known as "I Estìns" in the local dialect, is one of the seven seaside resorts located in the insular province of Ferrara, between the Lidi di Comacchio. This resort takes its name from the Estensi family, who ruled Ferrara for a long time.

In the thirties, the coast on which Lido degli Estensi and Lido di Spina developed was the subject of a large planting of maritime pines, which led to the creation of a green space between the valleys of Comacchio and the sea. Over the following years, the area underwent a tourist and seaside transformation, with the construction of hotels, infrastructure and buildings, which to some extent led to the felling of pine trees. Nevertheless, the settlement of Lido degli Estensi has residents even during the winter season, with the presence of a parish church, a school center, and a tourist dock.

Lido degli Estensi is the most famous tourist destination of the "Sette Lidi di Comacchio", thanks to the presence of one of the longest beaches in Italy, with clean and gentle waters. In 2019, this seaside resort was awarded the prestigious blue flag. Viale Carducci, the main street of Estensi, represents the commercial center of the Seven Lidi, with numerous tourist offers of great interest. The new promenade and the new tourist port have confirmed Lido degli Estensi as the main maritime attraction of the entire province of Ferrara, ideal for both young people and families, also thanks to the proximity to Lido di Spina. It is not by chance that the singer-songwriter Jovanotti chose this magnificent seaside resort for a stop of his Jova Beach Party in 2019.
Works in Lido degli Estensi
In 2013, the work on widening the canal port that separates Lido degli Estensi from Porto Garibaldi began, which led to the renovation of the tourist pier and the demolition of the historic headquarters of the Naval League.
