Welcome to Colledàra
Hello friends! Today I'll talk to you about Colledàra, an Italian municipality located in the province of Teramo, Abruzzo. The city is famous for Fedele Romani's memoir book titled "Colledara", published in 1907. Additionally, a section of the Gran Sasso Horse Trail crosses the city. So, let's discover together this beautiful city!
History of Colledàra
The royal decree n.493, dated December 30, 1909, transferred the municipality seat of Castiglione della Valle to Colledàra for various reasons, including its central location, the high number of inhabitants in its Villa, the presence of the post office, doctor, pharmacy, notary, and even a bank. But the real reason behind the transfer was the best-seller by Fedele Romani "Colledara". The previews published by Romani in the previous years on Il Marzocco had garnered great success throughout the country.
With the royal decree n.379 of February 16, 1928 n. 60, the Municipality changed its name from Castiglione della Valle to Colledàra.
