History: between World War II and the end of the war in the Parmense

Pontescodogna has a long and interesting history. During World War II, the small locality was the scene of Allied air attacks that hit an ammunition dump located here. In 1945, surrender negotiations of the German troops, which ended the war in the Parmense, took place within the command of the Força Expedicionária Brasileira. In 2000, Pontescodogna was elevated to the rank of hamlet thanks to the construction of a new residential district.

Monuments and places of interest: the Church of San Nicomede and the Corte di Giarola
