Colle d'Anchise

Colle d'Anchise: A Corner of Molise

Colle d'Anchise is a small Italian town in the province of Campobasso in Molise. Its name seems to have been adapted to that of the father of Aeneas because of the cacophony of the previous names, Cornachisio and Coraccisi. The center was founded by the Lombards in the 10th century and archaeological finds from the Sannite period of the 1st century have been discovered and preserved in Campobasso. In the medieval period, it was a commercial transit area with the construction of a castle.

Symbols

The coat of arms of Colle d'Anchise represents a half-naked man sitting on a rock founded on the tip, playing a horn, on a blue background. The banner, on the other hand, is made up of a blue drapery.
