Pontelangorino

Welcome to Pontelangorino!

Hello everyone! Today I would like to introduce you to Pontelangorino, a small rural fraction located in the province of Ferrara. Here, life flows peacefully and the economy is mainly based on agriculture. Our village has about 1000 inhabitants and is about 3 km east of the millennial abbey of Pomposa. Come and discover this wonderful area with me!

History

The history of Pontelangorino begins in the 1950s, when the church was built. In the 1960s, the village grew and developed with the construction of the municipal delegation headquarters and the square. In 1979, the school complex was born, which included middle schools and kindergarten-primary schools.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the Estense Rice Cooperative was established, which was a great success and had over 400 members. Unfortunately, in the 1980s, the cooperative went into crisis and was absorbed by the Padana Risi Consortium. Only thanks to Risi and Grani did the situation stabilize. Over the years, some industrial settlements have also arisen, such as the Conserve Italia plant, dedicated to the processing of fruit and vegetables, and the Falco plant, which produces chipboard. These factories are located along the SS 309 Romea, just after the Caprile fraction.

Tragedy and Activities

Not everything has been easy for Pontelangorino. In 2017, our village was the scene of a heinous crime committed by two minors who killed one of their parents, while the other confessed to being a paid killer. This event struck the community deeply, but life continued to flow as before.

Despite everything, Pontelangorino is a welcoming and friendly place, where people work hard and love their land. Since the 1990s, the Pumpkin Festival has been organized in the village, a highly anticipated event by residents and visitors. The pumpkin is, in fact, a typical product of the area and is cooked in many different ways. If you love food and traditions, you can't miss this festival!

Conclusions

So here, in a few words, is the history and activities of Pontelangorino! If you are looking for a peaceful place to relax and enjoy nature, this is the right place for you. Here you can taste typical dishes, take walks in the countryside, and visit neighboring towns, such as Codigoro and the millennial abbey of Pomposa.
