Cloz
Cloz: an old municipality immersed in Val di Non
Cloz, an old municipality located in the province of Trento, was dissolved on January 1, 2020 and is now a district of Novella. Cloz is situated in the area known as the "Third Bank," surrounded by orchards and in the shadow of Monte Ozol.
Monuments and places of interest
The village is characterized by two interesting churches:
- Church of Santo Stefano (Novella, Italy, Cloz), built during the war. The bell tower, which dates back to 1605, hosts a concert of six bells and reaches a height of 50 meters.
- Church of Santa Maria Assunta (Novella, Italy), dating back to the seventeenth century and in Gothic style. The bell tower, which tilts on one side, dates back to 1628.
Anthropogenic geography
The village is divided into two districts, Santo Stefano (or Cloz di dentro) and Santa Maria (or Cloz di fuori). In the past, these districts were markedly separate, but today they are united by new buildings.
Economy
The main economic activity in the village is apple cultivation. There are also groppello wine vineyards in the lower part of the village, and the village is known for its copper and wood craftsmanship and other commercial activities.
Administration
Cloz is now a district of Novella.
