Moiano

Welcome to Moiano, in the province of Perugia!

Hello everyone, today I will talk to you about Moiano, a hamlet of the municipality of Città della Pieve, located in the beautiful region of Umbria. The territory of this area dates back to the Middle Ages, and over the centuries it has undergone various evolutions.

The history of Moiano

Moiano saw its population increase in the 17th and 18th centuries, to be part of the third of Casalino, along with other localities such as Caticciano, Celle, Ravigliano, Sigliano, and Case Veglie. In the twentieth century, Moiano saw a real urban expansion, becoming the most populous inhabited center after Città della Pieve itself.

A tragic event that marked the history of Moiano was the explosion of a bomb on April 23, 1974, during the "years of lead," which caused serious damage to the Casa del Popolo of the area. But let's not be discouraged by this fact, there are many other points of interest to discover in Moiano!
