Tourism
Cibiana di Cadore is a beloved tourist destination, thanks to its strategic location in the heart of the Dolomites. In fact, the opportunity to spend a vacation immersed in nature and among the mountains is much appreciated by those who want to recharge their batteries and enjoy a little relaxation. But not only that, the town is also known for its "murals" and for the "Museum in the Clouds", one of the locations of the Messner Mountain Museum.
= The Murals =
The Murals are very particular frescoes: painted on the walls of the ancient stone houses of Cibiana di Cadore, they represent a strength for the town. Thanks to these, in fact, Cibiana is often called "the town of murals". The creation of these works began in 1980 with the aim of recovering the traditions and stories of the town. Since then, new murals are created every year by artists from all over the world, creating a true open-air museum.
= Messner Mountain Museum Dolomites - "Museum in the Clouds" =
The "Museum in the Clouds" is one of the best-known places of interest in Cibiana di Cadore. Located on Mount Rite, at an altitude of 2180 meters, the museum is part of the Messner Mountain Museum project, curated by the climber Reinhold Messner. The museum is housed in a World War I fort and is dedicated to the "rock" element and the history of exploration and mountaineering in the Dolomites.

In addition to the Museum in the Clouds and the Murals, Cibiana di Cadore offers a series of other places of interest not to be missed. If you are passionate about mountaineering, you cannot miss the Base Camp Museum of Reinhold Messner in Masariè. If, instead, you are interested in the history of iron, the Iron Museum of Cibiana di Sotto is just for you. Moreover, the Church of San Lorenzo Martire in Cibiana di Cadore is a religious gem to visit. Finally, every two years, the Dolomite Art Biennale takes place in Masariè, a contemporary art exhibition held in the most picturesque locations of the Dolomites.
