Pessione
Welcome to Pessione!
Hello everyone! Today I will talk to you about Pessione, a charming hamlet of the municipality of Chieri, in the metropolitan city of Turin. Are you ready to discover what there is to see in the area?
Monuments and places of interest
Let's start right away with a medieval testimony, Castelguelfo. This fortified structure dates back to before 1000 and today is a private villa.
Another wonder of Pessione is the historic Martini & Rossi establishment, inaugurated in 1864 and which in 1993 became part of the Bacardi group. The site has become a museum of wine history, open to the public since 1961.
Walking along Via Martini and Rossi, you can admire the Church of the Holy Family of Nazareth, the nursery school and the primary school.
The Pessione train station
Pessione is not only a historical wonder, but also a must-see for travelers. The hamlet has a railway station, called Pessione Station, which is located on the Turin-Genoa railway line. Currently, 16 trains stop in each direction.
Historical facts
It is estimated that Pessione has about 1600 inhabitants. The location of the hamlet to the south of the capital, about 5 kilometers away, has favored its development over the centuries. Pessione is located at an altitude of 248 meters above sea level, in exclusive and total plain next to the Rio Merdero or Tefice.
