Val di Cembra is a valley located in Trentino, characterized by small inhabited centers nestled on slopes. It is crossed by the Avisio River and can be reached through several roads, including the Wine Road/San Michele-Giovo.
Economic resources of the valley
Agriculture and viticulture represent the main economic resources of Val di Cembra. The terraced vineyards, built without mortar, are typical of the Avisio hills and the wine production is of high quality. The most famous variety is the Müller-Thurgau, also cultivated at an altitude of 872 meters. Another important economic resource is represented by the extraction and processing of porphyry.
Municipalities of the valley
Val di Cembra is divided into seven municipalities: Altavalle, Sover, Segonzano, Cembra Lisignago, Lona-Lases, Albiano, and Giovo. Each municipality is characterized by different fractions, inhabitants, and extension.
