Hello friends! Today I'll present to you the delightful municipality of Cavenago d'Adda, located in the beautiful province of Lodi in Lombardy. With its 2093 inhabitants, Cavenago is a small town with a fascinating history and several places of interest to discover.
Physical geography
Situated between the Adda River and the Muzza Canal, Cavenago enjoys a privileged position in the Po Valley. The city is surrounded by green fields and breathtaking natural landscapes.

History
With a history dating back to the Roman era, Cavenago d'Adda has been home to several noble families: from the Fissiraga to the Colleoni, to the Clerici. Over the centuries, the municipality has undergone some territorial changes, including the aggregation of the municipalities of Caviaga and Soltarico in 1869. It is interesting to note that Cavenago became autonomous from Cascina Robecco only with the constitution of the Lombardo-Veneto kingdom. In fact, the evolution of Italian history is fascinating and even small towns like Cavenago have felt its impact.
Monuments and places of interest
Cavenago d'Adda boasts several attractions that are worth a visit: the Church of San Pietro Apostolo, a neoclassical example with a Romanesque bell tower and inside a valuable eighteenth-century altar, paintings, and frescoes of various schools and periods. Furthermore, not far from the village, stands the suggestive Sanctuary of the Madonna della Costa, from which you can admire a stunning panoramic view. It is also worth mentioning the nineteenth-century Gazzola villa and the beautiful Greppi villa, in neo-gothic style, built towards the end of the 19th century. If you are interested in archaeology, do not miss the 18th-century church in Caviaga.
Museums
To appreciate the culture of the territory even more, you cannot miss the Museum of Peasant Civilization "Ciòca e Berlòca". The museum is located in the rooms of the municipal building on the first floor and was born from a project by the mayor Ferruccio Pallavera in 1994. It was opened to the public only in 2004, but it immediately became a reference point for history and culture enthusiasts.

Cavenago d'Adda is a cosmopolitan municipality, with a population of 2093 people. According to the latest census, foreigners residing in the municipality are 220, equal to 9.74% of the population. Among the most represented nationalities are Romania, India, and Tunisia.
Religion
Cavenago has a strong Catholic tradition, with the parish of San Pietro Apostolo which is included in the Vicariate of San Martino in Strada of the diocese of Lodi. In the parish territory, there is the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Costa. The Caviaga district, on the other hand, has its own autonomous parish, dedicated to Saint James the Greater Apostle, and included in the same vicariate.
Anthropogenic geography
Cavenago includes three geographical hamlets: Caviaga, Muzza Piacentina, and Soltarico. Each of these has its own identity and history to discover.
