Cavedago: a rural municipality surrounded by nature

Cavedago is a rural municipality located in the autonomous province of Trento, Italy, with a population of 556 inhabitants. However, it does not have a conventional structure, but is composed of a series of farms that are distributed over a vast area on the sides of the SS421 highway, which connects the Piana Rotaliana to the Altopiano della Paganella. The beauty of this place lies in the fact that it is surrounded by meadows and forests, allowing for a splendid view of the Valle di Non.

The structure of Cavedago

Descending the highway from the Andalo area, you can find the first buildings of Cavedago at Maso Daldoss at an altitude of 965 m, the highest part of the municipality and directly adjacent to the territory of the municipality of Andalo. Subsequently, you cross the farms Dalsass, Maset and Tomas, to reach the area where the church and the Town Hall are located at 862 m, situated between the bridge over the Rio Lavesol and the Maso Canton. Finally, you can appreciate a grassy plateau called Pian Alt, at an altitude of 828 m, before reaching the lower limit of the municipality of Cavedago at Maso di Sedriago, which borders the municipality of Spormaggiore.

Cavedago is famous for its natural wonders and rural identity, however, thanks to its location near tourist centers, it has also become a growing center. The municipality has hotels, inns and apartments to ensure a comfortable stay for tourists. However, there are also traces of Cavedago's origins that deserve attention, such as the three arches of the ancient bridge over the Rio Lavesol and the church of San Tommaso.

Cavedago and every year events are organized such as the Magnada fra i Masi (August 10, 2008), which reached its 10th edition, and the Ciaspolada Gastronomica of the end of the year (December 28, 2008), at its second edition.
