The History of Castilenti
There have been representations of settlements in Castilenti dating back to the 3rd or 2nd century BC. In the medieval period, the town was a safe haven for settlements after the first fortifications were built as defense against the Saracens. After the abolition of feudalism, the town became a municipality that is now part of the Vomano, Fino, and Piomba Mountain Community.

Church of Santa Vittoria Vergine and Martire
The Church of Santa Vittoria Vergine and Martire is the parish church of Castilenti and has existed since the 14th century. Over the centuries, the church has undergone various renovations and today it presents itself in an 18th-century style. It has a pitched roof. On the back is the small bell tower. Inside, you can admire the gallery with the large pipe organ, supported by a golden gallery. Along the sides of the nave are various chapels, separated by Corinthian pilasters.
Church of San Rocco
The Church of San Rocco dates back to the 17th century and is the second church in the center of Castilenti. It is here that the headquarters of the Confraternity of San Rocco di Montpellier are located. Inside the chapel, simplicity in architecture is immediately noticeable, characterized by the barrel vaulted ceiling and the single nave.
Convent of Santa Maria di Oliveto
The Convent of Santa Maria di Oliveto is located in the valley of the Fino River. The abbey was founded in 1598 near the Campli Plain, donated to the De Sterlich family by the municipality, to the provincial father of the Observant Franciscans.
