Castelnuovo Don Bosco: a hilltop village
Castelnuovo Don Bosco is a town located in the province of Asti, Piedmont. Its original name was Castelnuovo d'Asti, but later it was named after the most illustrious citizen, Don Bosco. The town is situated on a slightly elevated hill and is located in the northwestern part of the province. Later, after returning to the Marquises of Monferrato, it was granted in fief to the lords of Rivalba and the lords of Piea. Subsequently, the town became part of the Savoy territories.

The municipal coat of arms of Castelnuovo Don Bosco was recognized by decree of the head of the government in January 1937. The municipal banner, flag, and motto that accompanies the shield were granted by decree of the president of the republic in July 2002.
