History

The Statutes of the waters and roads of the county of Milan, dated 1346, refer to Castelnuovo Bozzente as one of the villages that deal with the maintenance of the road from Bola in the parish of Appiano. During the State of Milan, the municipality has undergone many infidelities, first by the Del Rio Noriega family in 1650, then by characters such as the Imbonati and the counts Litta. In 1807 Castelnuovo was included in the municipality of Binago, but the aggregation was abolished with the Restoration. In 1863 the municipality adopted the name Castelnuovo Bazente, later changed to Castelnuovo Bozzente in 1910. In 1928 the municipality was merged with Beregazzo con Figliaro, forming a new municipality called Mirabello Comasco. Only in 1948 did Castelnuovo Bozzente regain its municipal autonomy.

Symbols

The coat of arms of the municipality and the gonfalon were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on December 22, 1954. The gonfalon is a cloth in white and red.
