History

Castello di Fiemme

Castello di Fiemme is an ancient Fiemme village for which certain evidence of its current location dates back only to around the eleventh century A.D. The archaeological area dating back to the Bronze Age is located east of the village and represents the presumed place of origin of the village. In the eleventh century, Castello di Fiemme was under the control of the Welfen family. In 1026, the entire Val di Fiemme came under the control of the Prince-Bishop of Trento. A few years later, part of Val di Fiemme returned under the management of the Counts of Tyrol-Gorizia with Castello as the administrative center. In the twelfth century, the jurisdiction of Castello was under the control of the Lords of Enn-Caldiff, serving the Counts of Appiano on the Wine Road.

Molina di Fiemme

Molina di Fiemme is located in the valley on the right bank of the Avisio river near the confluence of the Predaia stream. Predaia, instead, forms a single urban agglomeration with the upper part of Molina and extends on the left bank of the Predaia stream. The area has been inhabited since ancient times; evidence of settlements has been found as early as the Bronze Age.
