The village has developed in recent decades thanks to the increase in tourist presence.

The epigraph placed on the door reads "Inveni portum" (I found a port, goodbye hope, goodbye fortune, you have deceived me enough, now deceive others)", an epitaph that some believe was written on a tomb. Surrounding the palace are several private gardens that host a necropolis with about 150 pit and cappuccina tombs.
