History
The first archaeological findings in the territory of Castelfidardo date back to the Paleolithic era when man lived in a village of huts dedicated to agriculture, breeding, hunting, and fishing. In Roman times, Castelfidardo was part of the colony of Osimo and was crossed by roads that connected different cities.
But the real history of Castelfidardo begins in the year 1000 when, near a forest called "vualdum de Fico," the construction of the "Castrum Ficardi" castle began. In the twelfth century, Castelfidardo pledged loyalty to the bishop of Osimo, who became its feudal lord. Over the following centuries, the city underwent a series of looting and destruction by different armies until, in 1827, Castelfidardo became a Municipality.

Castelfidardo represents a tourist destination of enormous potential. Among its treasures, certainly the Selva di Castelfidardo, a green area of 915 hectares, where it is possible to practice various outdoor activities such as trekking, mountain biking, and birdwatching. In addition, Castelfidardo organizes various cultural events, including the famous Sagra degli Accordionisti, which attracts thousands of visitors from all over Italy every year.
