Castagnaro: a small town in the province of Verona
Castagnaro, also known as Castagnàr or Castagnàro in Venetian language, is an Italian municipality located in the province of Verona, in the Veneto region. With a population of approximately 3630 inhabitants, the town is only 52 kilometers away from Verona, at the southernmost point of the province, on the border with the province of Rovigo.
Physical geography
The name Castagnaro derives from the presence of chestnut trees, which were once very common in the town. However, today these plants have disappeared from sight, although some have been recently replanted in the school's garden as a reminder. The town also has a small hamlet called Menà Vallestrema, located to the west.
