History
Cassano Valcuvia has a very ancient history dating back to the pre-Roman period. In 1992, the town obtained its coat of arms and flag, which are visible on all official occasions.
Society
The town has seen the evolution of its population over the centuries. In 1751, Cassano counted 286 inhabitants, while in 1853 there were already 455. The annexation to Vergobbio in 1809 and to Rancio Valcuvia in 1812 had a positive impact on the growth of the town.
Infrastructure and Transportation
Cassano Valcuvia is located along the State Road 394 of the Eastern Verbano, which connects Cittiglio with Luino. Until 1949, the town was also served by the tram of Valcuvia, an important means of transport of the time.
Sports
Cassano Valcuvia is a dynamic town full of sports activities. Here we find the 15-a-side and 7-a-side rugby team ASD Rugby Valcuvia - Gli Unni, which plays an important role in the social life of the town. Furthermore, there is also a women's rugby team ASD Rugby Valcuvia - Le Unne, to promote the practice of rugby among women.
