Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti: Characteristics and History

Malvasia di Casorzo d'Asti is a lively ruby red wine with a unique rose fragrance and a sweet, pleasant, and aromatic taste. Its history dates back to the 13th century when Venetian sailors brought the first Malvaxia vines from Greece to the port of Monenvasaia. The grapes are harvested at the end of September, and the unique fruity and floral aromas include rose, peach, apricot, currant, and raspberry.

Production

The Casorzo Social Winery is the main player in producing top-quality Malvasia di Casorzo dessert wine. Around a hundred members collect approximately 95% of the grapes suitable for producing this wine. After a year of vineyard work with proper care and attention, the associated grape growers contribute all their grapes to the social winery, which produces a high-quality product through proper selection. Malvasia di Casorzo has been a controlled designation of origin wine since 1968.
