The main hydrographic system is constituted by the Molgorana and La Folgora canal.

The first traces of Casatenovo date back to the fourth century, with the finding of a sepulchral stele with an inscription relating to a soldier named Lucillio Domestico Valeriano at Cascina Porrinetti. However, the first documented mention of Casatenovo dates back to 867. During the period of Christian restoration, numerous presbyterial churches were built, including that of Casatenovo, which became one of the most important in the area. Over the centuries, the municipality experienced development and prosperity, first as a place of passage for merchants and pilgrims, then as an agricultural and finally industrial center.

The roads of Casatenovo

Casatenovo is in a strategic position, equidistant between Monza and Lecco. The municipality is served by several provincial roads, such as the provincial road 51 della Santa, which connects the state road 36 and the new Valassina, the provincial road 54, which connects the main directions east-west and north of the center of Casatenovo, and the Provincial 55, which connects the center with Usmate and the connections with Lomagna and the Milan A51 motorway. Casatenovo does not have its own train station, but is served by several bus lines.

The architectural heritage of Casatenovo

Casatenovo boasts a particularly valuable historical architectural heritage.
