Mirabello Ciria

Mirabello Ciria: A Special Hamlet

Hello everyone! Today I will talk about a special location in the province of Cremona: Mirabello Ciria. This small hamlet has only 128 inhabitants and is the only one in Casalmorano. Its history is very ancient and fascinating.

History

Mirabello Ciria was once a small agricultural village with very ancient roots in the County of Cremona. By the eighteenth century, it already had 128 inhabitants. During the Napoleonic period, from 1809 to 1816, Mirabello was incorporated into the hamlet of Casalmorano, but then regained autonomy with the establishment of the Lombardo-Veneto Kingdom. In 1861, at the birth of the Kingdom of Italy, the municipality of Mirabello Ciria had only 360 inhabitants. In 1863, the municipality took the official name of "Mirabello Ciria," to distinguish itself from other locations with the same name. In 1867, the municipality of Mirabello Ciria was aggregated to the municipality of Casalmorano.

Notes

Local tradition tells that the name of the hamlet comes from a mirabelle plantation on site, but there are no historical sources that confirm this theory. In any case, the name Mirabello derives from the Latin "mirabilis," which means "wonderful."

Other Projects

There are no other projects related to the hamlet of Mirabello Ciria, but its historical and cultural importance is carefully preserved by the residents of the area.
