Let's discover the story of Cologno, a hamlet of the municipality of Casalmaiocco!

Cologno is a small Italian town, located in the province of Lodi, and is part of the hamlet of Casalmaiocco. If you are looking for a quiet place to relax and enjoy the Lombardy countryside, Cologno could be the right choice for you.

But how did this hamlet come about? Let's find out together!

History

Cologno has ancient origins, having been for a long time an agricultural center belonging to the upper bishopric of the County of Lodi. In 1757 the municipality of Casalmaiocco was aggregated to Cologno, giving rise to a new administrative entity.

During the Napoleonic age, in 1809, Cologno further expanded when the municipalities of Dresano and Sordio were also aggregated to it. However, with the Austrian restoration of 1816, these two municipalities became autonomous again.

Finally, in 1863, the municipality of Cologno assumed a new name becoming Casalmaiocco. From that moment on, Cologno became only a hamlet of this new municipality.
