History
The commune of Casaletto Lodigiano has an ancient history and has undergone various vicissitudes, including the passing of ownership by the Masserati and Lurani counts. During the Napoleonic era, specifically between 1809 and 1816, Casaletto was a fraction of Salerano sul Lambro and regained autonomy only with the establishment of the Lombardo-Veneto Kingdom. In 1863, the commune of Casaletto changed its name and took on the new denomination of Casaletto Lodigiano to distinguish itself from other homonymous localities. In 1870, the commune of Casaletto Lodigiano was added to the communes of Gugnano and Cascina Villarossa.
