Physical geography

Caronno Varesino covers an area of about 5.7 km² on the hills delimited to the east by the Tenore (stream) and to the west by the Arno (stream)/Sciona. The territory, mainly hilly with extensive wooded and agricultural areas, is located on the main communication routes between Varese and Milan, approximately halfway between the capital and the city of Gallarate. The town is mainly made up of the historic agglomerations of Caronno centro, Travaino, Stribiana, and Palani, and more recent extensions of residential nuclei that develop up to the borders with neighboring countries. Among the areas of great geographical and landscape interest, we remember those inserted in the Rile Tenore Olona Park, in particular the area of Bagnella, so called due to the richness of underground waters, and the Campolungo valley, located in the locality of Stribiana, rich in meadows and cultivations.

The highest point in the town is located in via Gerolamo Bianchi, next to the church, at an altitude of 403 m above sea level.
