Caresanablot is a small municipality located in the province of Vercelli, in Piedmont. Origins of the name
Caresanablot is first recorded in the 16th century as "Caresana e Belotto". At that time, the southern area of Caresana was within the boundaries of the large feudal land, but when the settlement of Albellione disappeared, the name of the Bellotto family remained. From here, the form "Blot" appears at least since 1744 and has become the current name over time.
History
Caresanablot has a very ancient history. The first records date back to 1621, when the village was enfeoffed to the Vercelli family of Avogadro. Subsequently, in 1695, the fief passed to Antonio Francesco Bulgaro. In 1724, the fief passed to the Arborio Biamino family, which held it until the cessation of feudalism in Piedmont.
Symbols
The municipal coat of arms, granted in 1989, is a silver shield with a red lion, crowned in antique gold, placed on a green field. The gonfalon is a white and red split cloth.
