In the eleventh century, the village becomes the property of Bonifacio del Vasto and after his death it is inherited by his son Enrico I Del Carretto. Over time, the village is divided into two parts, one under the imperial fief and the other allied with the Republic of Genoa. In 1322, the village is sold to the Marquisate of Saluzzo and subsequently resold to the Scarampi.
