Trivero: a historical and cultural place in Piedmont

Trivero is a municipality located in the province of Biella, in Piedmont, and is part of the commune of Valdilana. With a population of about 5,500 inhabitants, it is a place with a rich history and culture. History

Trivero has a long history that dates back to the Middle Ages. It belonged for a long time to the archdiocese of Vercelli and in 1379 became part of the domains of the House of Savoy. In the fourteenth century, the area was hit by clashes between the followers of Fra Dolcino and the bishop and feudal troops, which resulted in the death of Dolcino on Monte Rubello, north of the town. In 1798, the tree of liberty was erected. On January 1, 2019, Trivero was merged with the municipalities of Mosso, Soprana, and Valle Mosso, creating the new municipality of Valdilana.

The coat of arms of the municipality of Trivero was granted by the decree of the President of the Republic on October 6, 1953.

Administration

Several administrative changes have been made in the history of the municipality. Until 2010, Trivero was part of the Valle di Mosso Mountain Community, although it was abolished following the merger ordered by the Piedmont Region in 2009.
