Capriglia Irpina
Welcome to Capriglia Irpina
Hello everyone! Today I'm going to talk about Capriglia Irpina, an Italian municipality in the province of Avellino in Campania. The town has a population of approximately 2244 residents and has a great history to tell.
History
Capriglia was a fiefdom that passed from powerful families of the Kingdom of Naples such as the Carafa, the Caracciolo princes of Avellino, and the Schipani. In 1738, the town was sold to the Marquis of Arneto, Gaetano Amoretti, who died without male heirs. It was then purchased by the Marquis Nicola Macedonio of the Dukes of Grottolella, Marquis of Ruggiano, Oliveto Citra and Tortora, Baron of Poligori in Calabria, who had the lordship with the title of Marquis until the abolition of feudalism in 1806.
