Hello Capriata d'Orba!
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk to you about Capriata d'Orba, a municipality in Piedmont with a population of 1,835, located in the province of Alessandria, in the upper Monferrato region.

History
Capriata d'Orba has a rich history of events. The village was first mentioned in a sales agreement in 973 in favor of a certain Roprando, by the son of the marquis Ildeprando. It was later owned by the Marquises of Bosco, Aleramici, and was then the subject of expansionist desires on the part of the municipality of Alessandria.
In 1218 it allied with the Republic of Genoa, but was besieged and destroyed by the people of Alessandria in 1228. It returned to Genoese hands in 1230 and in 1317 became part of the Duchy of Milan. In 1412 it was again under the dominion of Genoa, which in 1418 ceded it to the Marquises of Monferrato.
The conquest of Capriata in 1625 marked the beginning of the Savoy-Genoa War of 1625. During the War of the Monferrato Succession (1648), the village was devastated by the French and then by the Spanish. It was annexed to the Savoy domains in 1708.
In 1863, the municipality assumed the new name of "Capriata d'Orba".
