Cappella de' Picenardi: an ancient and fascinating place

Cappella de' Picenardi is a small town in the province of Cremona, Lombardy, with a population of 419 inhabitants. This town has very ancient roots, belonging to the Inferior Province of the County of Cremona. For centuries, it was a fiefdom of the Sommi Picenardi family of Cremona, from whom it took its name.

After the unification of Italy in 1861, the municipality of Cappella de' Picenardi had 652 inhabitants. In 1867, the municipalities of Cansero, Isolello, and Vighizzolo (Cappella de' Picenardi) were aggregated to Cappella de' Picenardi.
