Campospinoso
Welcome to Campospinoso!
Hello everyone, today I'm going to talk to you about Campospinoso, a small Italian municipality located in the province of Pavia in Lombardy. With its 1088 inhabitants, it is located in the plain of Oltrepò Pavese, between the Scuropasso and Versa streams. It is composed of two residential areas, Campospinoso and Albaredo-Casenuove, near Albaredo Arnaboldi.
The history of Campospinoso
Campospinoso dates back to 1250, as can be seen from the list of the lands of the Pavia domain. It belonged to the squad and then to the feud of Broni. Later, it was assigned to the Visconti Scaramuzza family in 1531 and then sold to the actual feudal lords of Broni, the Arrigoni of Milan, until the abolition of feudalism in 1797.
In 1928, the municipality of Albaredo Arnaboldi was merged with Campospinoso, becoming Campospinoso Albaredo. However, the previous situation was restored in 1948. In 2000, together with the neighboring municipality of Albaredo Arnaboldi, the Campospinoso Albaredo Union was established, a local entity that manages the functions that the municipalities decide to transfer.
Symbols of Campospinoso
The coat of arms and the banner of Campospinoso were granted on June 25, 1998. The wheat ears represent the main local agricultural product, while the thorny bush bent to form the letter S alludes to the name of the village. The banner of Campospinoso is a yellow flag bordered in red.
The society of Campospinoso
The demographics of Campospinoso have evolved over time. Today it is a municipality of 1088 inhabitants, but there have been phases of growth and decline in the past.
The administration of Campospinoso
The mayor of Campospinoso is Dr. Olga Volpin, from the Civic List - Together for Campospinoso, since 26-05-2019. The vice-mayor is Santo Occhiuzzi, while the councilor is Luigi Magrotti.
