Campolongo Tapogliano: an Italian municipality in Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Cjamplunc Tapoian, or Campolongo Tapogliano in Italian, is a scattered municipality located in the Italian region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The municipality, which has a population of around 1,129 inhabitants, was established on January 1st, 2009 through the merger of the municipalities of Campolongo al Torre and Tapogliano. The municipal headquarters are located in Campolongo al Torre, the largest locality in the municipality.
Origins of the name
The name Campolongo derives from the Latin term "campus longus," which means "long field," while Tapogliano comes from the Late Latin "tapinianus," which means "poverty-stricken land."
Monuments and places of interest
The municipality of Campolongo Tapogliano has several monuments and places of interest, including religious architecture such as the Church of San Giorgio Martire in Campolongo al Torre, the Church of San Martino Vescovo in Tapogliano, and the Oratory of Santa Margherita da Cortona, also in Tapogliano. Additionally, there is the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Cavenzano and Villa Pace, a summer residence and agricultural company of the Counts Pace.
Society
Campolongo Tapogliano has a population of around 1,129 inhabitants, and its demographic evolution has not been subjected to large fluctuations in recent years. The population mainly uses Italian and Eastern Friulian, which falls among the variants of Friulian, as provided by the regional law of Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
Administration
The municipality of Campolongo Tapogliano was established following a merger of the municipalities of Campolongo al Torre and Tapogliano, and the provisional administration of the municipality was entrusted to commissioner Luigi Morsut and deputy commissioner Giovanni Luigi Cumin until the 2009 elections.

To date, there are no official twinning agreements between Campolongo Tapogliano and other Italian or foreign cities.
