Physical geography
Quaglietta is located on a rocky spur between Mount Marzano and Mount Boschetiello. The hamlet is situated on the former State Road 91 of Sele Valley. Also, Quaglietta is close to the border with the province of Salerno, precisely with the municipality of Valva.
History
Quaglietta has a significant past due to its strategic location for controlling the Sele Valley. It has been ruled by several families, such as the Rossi da Gesualdo, Senerchia, Marchesi di Santa Lucia "i De Vicariis", Nobilore, Baroni del Plato, D'Ayala-Valva, and Viscido.
Among the historical monuments of Quaglietta is the Norman castle, symbol of the settlement. Currently reconstructed in its plan but without coverings, the castle is a suggestive place that is worth visiting.
