Cairano: a small municipality in Campania
Cairano is a municipality in the province of Avellino, located in the Campania region, with a population of approximately 274 inhabitants. The town is strategically located, surrounded by important municipalities such as Andretta, Calitri, Conza della Campania and Pescopagano, located in the province of Potenza. The territory of Cairano covers an area of 13.8 km², with a population density of 22 inhabitants/km².

Cairano is a small town that offers many places of cultural and historical interest. Among the main monuments of the town, we find the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli, the church of San Gennaro and the church of San Nicola. Culture
Cairano has been the set for numerous films. In 1963, for example, the film "La donnaccia" was shot, with the participation of many inhabitants of the town. In 2014, seven stories about Cairano, written by seven different authors, were published in Il Mattino. The stories were then collected in the anthology "Cairano. Relazioni felicitanti", curated by the director and choreographer Franco Dragone, originally from Cairano.
Administration
The municipality of Cairano is part of the Alta Irpinia Mountain Community. Over the years, numerous mayors have succeeded in contributing to the development of the town.

Roads
There are three provincial roads that cross the territory of Cairano: the Provincial Road 140, from the ex SS 91 to Cairano (km 7.000), the Provincial Road 199, from the ex SS 399 near Calitri to SP 140 near Cairano (km 9.000) and the Provincial Road 211, from SP 140, near the village of Cairano to the homonymous railway station (km 4.200).
