Buronzo: history, monuments and beauty to discover in Piedmont.

History

Symbols

The municipality of Buronzo has a coat of arms and a gonfalon granted by decree of the President of the Republic in 1957. The gonfalon is a cloth divided into yellow and blue. A simple but effective symbol, representing the pride of the community of Buronzo.

Monuments and places of interest

If you are passionate about history and culture, Buronzo offers several attractions to visit. The first must-see stop is the Castle, an imposing structure that dominates the surrounding valley. Here you can admire the typical architectural style of the medieval period and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view.

The parish church of Sant'Abbondio is another attraction not to be missed. This religious building was built in the 15th century and features a beautiful mix of architectural styles, including Romanesque and Baroque. Inside, you can admire precious sacred artworks, such as the magnificent wooden sculpture of the Madonna del Rosario.

For art and culture enthusiasts, Buronzo also offers other interesting chapels to discover, such as the Church of San Rocco and the Church of San Giovanni. In both churches, you can admire sacred artworks and notice the simple but suggestive architectural style.

Society

Demographic evolution

Buronzo is a small but vital municipality. In recent years, it has seen an increase in population, thanks also to the beauty of the territory and the quality of life it offers.

Infrastructure and transport

Buronzo is well connected to the main cities in the area thanks to public transport. The Buronzo Station, along the Santhià-Arona railway, was activated in 1905, and although it has no traffic since 2012, it allows the inhabitants of the town to easily reach other locations in the area.

In the past, Buronzo was also served by the Vercelli-Biella tramway, which crossed the main valley of the province and connected it to the main cities in the area.
