Pasiano di Pordenone: a town with agricultural roots
Pasiano di Pordenone, also known as Pasiàn in Venetian and Friulian language, is a town in the decentralization region of Pordenone, in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, with a population of 7,789. The territory has long been dedicated to agriculture, but since the 1970s, it has been part of the so-called "furniture triangle" with the municipalities of Prata di Pordenone and Brugnera.
Physical geography
Pasiano di Pordenone is located in the northeast of Italy, in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia plain. One of its features is the presence, in the Visinale district, of a villa belonging to the family of the famous Venetian playwright and writer Gasparo Gozzi, to whom the municipal theater is also dedicated.
History
The name of the city derives from Latin and means "Pacilius territories". Over time, Pasiano di Pordenone developed a flourishing economic activity around agriculture and craftsmanship, becoming an important center for furniture production in the 1970s.
