Brivio
Hello friends, today I will talk about Brivio, an Italian municipality in the province of Lecco in Lombardy. Known as "Brivi" in Brianza dialect and "Brìe" in Bergamo dialect, the municipality is home to the ancient Pieve di Brivio and the family of the same name.

Brivio is located in the lower San Martino valley, on the west bank of the Adda river. To the north, you can admire the high peaks of the Alps, while on the Bergamo side there are the Prealps and gentle hills to the east. The Adda river forms a meander that delimits a swampy area called Isola della Torre and Isolone del Serraglio in the municipality of Brivio. The territory is flat due to the alluvial deposits of the river and upstream the current is slow, while downstream it is moderately fast.
Flora
In this territory, the flora is very rich and hosts species such as Nymphaea alba, Lemna minor, Utricularia vulgaris, Alga and Phragmites australis, a tall species of cane. The iris, a protected species, grows along the river banks from May.
