Brez, the story of the former Trentino municipality
Brez was a municipality of 738 inhabitants in the autonomous province of Trento in Trentino-Alto Adige. In 2020, it merged with the municipalities of Cagnò, Cloz, Revò, and Romallo to become a fraction of Novella. In addition, the bronze altar frontispiece and bronze Stations of the Cross are by the Bolzano sculptor Agide Finardi. The ancient parish church of the Saints Fabiano and Sebastiano, on the other hand, was built in the 12th century on the ruins of a pre-existing place of worship and houses the choir in the counter-façade.

In the 2001 census, 149 inhabitants of Brez declared themselves as "Ladins". After the administrative changes of 2020, Brez became a fraction of Novella, formed by the districts of Brez and Rivo.
