In 1805 it was merged with the municipality of Brescia, but regained municipal autonomy with the Lombardo-Veneto Kingdom in 1816.

During the Second Italian War of Independence, Folzano became part of the Kingdom of Sardinia and subsequently the Kingdom of Italy. In 1865, the territory of Folzano was annexed to the municipality of San Nazzaro Mella.
