The toponym "Bovolenta" appears for the first time in 1027, in a donation deed in favor of the Abbey of Santo Stefano. The construction of the castle, one of the most important fortresses in the Paduan territory, at the behest of the Carraresi, contributed to make the village even more strategic. Over the centuries, Bovolenta has been at the center of conflicts between different powers, including the Republic of Venice and the Holy Roman Empire. However, thanks to its tenacious spirit and its ability to defend itself, the local community survived and experienced various moments of prosperity.
