Borghetto Lodigiano

The Municipality of Borghetto Lodigiano

Borghetto Lodigiano is an Italian municipality located in the province of Lodi, in Lombardy. With a population of 4,259 inhabitants, it is a place that encloses a lot of history and beauty.

History

In Roman times, the inhabited center of ''Tres Tabernae'' was located in the municipality's territory, and the ''via Mediolanum-Placentia'' passed through there, allowing communication between Milan and Piacenza, passing through ''Laus Pompeia'' (Lodi Vecchio). In the past, the two nuclei that now make up the settlement, Fossadolto and Borghetto, had autonomous lives. In 1863, Borghetto took on the official name of ''Borghetto Lodigiano'', to distinguish it from other places with the same name.

The upper field, blue, reproduces a green meadow from which a bunch of golden ears of wheat emerge crossed by a silver band with the uppercase writing HUMILITAS, and surmounted by two silver stars. In the lower field, silver, a red castle from which a gold banner with a red wheel rises, a symbol of the Rho family. The flag is a red cloth.
