The history of Poggio - San Bernardo di Favaro
The hamlet of Poggio - San Bernardo di Favaro, once known as "Favaro", took its current name from the local 16th-century church. In the past, it was part of the municipality of Pieve Ligure until 1928, when the two administrations of Pieve Ligure and Bogliasco were merged into the single municipality of Bogliasco Pieve. After World War II, in 1946, the coastal communities of the Paradiso Gulf separated again, giving rise to the current municipalities. However, to provide greater convenience to the inhabitants of the hamlet, the town of San Bernardo was included in the municipal territories of Bogliasco. In 1962, with the construction of the new road, the natural isolation that characterized the main hamlets and localities of the area was interrupted.
