Bidonì
Welcome to Bidoni!
Hello everyone! Today I will tell you about this small Italian municipality called Bidoni (which is spelled "Bidoniu" in Sardinian), located in the province of Oristano, in Sardinia.
History
The history of Bidoni dates back to the Nuragic and Roman periods, but during the Aragonese rule it was incorporated into the Marquisate of San Vittorio. In the Middle Ages there was a monastery, later replaced by the church of S. Pietro. In 1839, with the suppression of the feudal system, Bidoni became an autonomous municipality administered by a mayor and a city council.
Symbols
The coat of arms and the flag of the municipality of Bidoni were granted by decree of the President of the Republic on April 16, 2002.
Society
Bidoni has about 139 inhabitants and along with Setzu, Las Plassas and Nureci is one of the smallest municipalities in Sardinia by area. The Sardinian language spoken in Bidoni is a variant of Limba de Mesania.
Demographic evolution
Despite its small size, Bidoni has had an interesting demographic evolution: in 1951 it had 413 inhabitants, a figure that gradually decreased until the historical minimum of 130 inhabitants in 2001. Since then, there has been a slight increase.
Administration
Currently, the mayor of Bidoni is Antonio Mura, and the seat of the municipality is located in Via IV Novembre.
Notes
Unfortunately, I did not find detailed information about the services offered by the municipality of Bidoni or the activities that can be carried out in the town. However, it is a quiet place immersed in nature, ideal for those seeking relaxation and peace.
