History
The hamlet of Marina di Bibbona was born around the Fort of Marina di Bibbona, a defensive structure of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, built in the second half of the 18th century to reorganize the military and health outposts of the Grand Duchy under the Lorraine dynasty. In those times, a body of armed knights called cavalleggeri had the task of patrolling the coast. The fort was equipped with service stables for these knights and had a garrison.
Over the years, Marina di Bibbona has become increasingly touristic, and the construction of residences and houses has contributed to affirming this vocation of the hamlet.

Religious architectures
The Church of Cristo Nostra Pace was designed by the architect Simone Giusti and was consecrated on August 3, 1991. It is a modern and evocative work that overlooks the main square of the hamlet.
The Church of Madonna del Mare, located near the Marinetta hotel, was built as a chapel in 1955 and is dedicated to the Madonna di Pompei. Inside is the triptych "Madonna del Mare," a work by the painter Gianni Oliveti.
