In 1265, the population received a statute from the monks, who later ceded the town to the count of Castel San Niccolò.

During the Hundred Years' War, Soci suffered serious damage from the armies of the Sforza, led by the condottiero Niccolò Piccinino in 1440. In 1848, the Bocci family founded a wool mill that led to the rapid growth of the town.
